I’m trying to learn coding for a year now. I was always desperate because I couldn’t find a proper site to learn it. Most of the time they are confusing, old and not practice orientated.
I almost gave up hope when I found the site: codeacademy.com.
I won’t say this site is perfect. It’s far away from that. Sometimes the exercises are way too repetitive and easy, sometimes they are way too difficult again. It also has some bugs, especially in Safari. But for being free, you can’t ask for more.
The site always motivates me to make progress: The courses are short and – most of the time – good explained. I still was stuck a couple of times, simply because I didn’t know what to do and how to do it. There is a forum, but this shouldn’t be the idea of an exercise.
Summarized I really can recommend it if someone wants to learn the basics of programming and doesn’t know where to begin. You sure have to repeat some courses two times to get some cryptic parts, but this isn’t as bad as it sounds.
